Is this a coating that goes on my floor?

Our propriety treatment for most surfaces is not a coating that can wear off. It imprints a microscopic tread pattern on the tiles that is so slight it is not visible to the naked eye. For those surfaces that cannot be treated with this product we offer alternate solutions whether it’s an anti-slip coating or sealant with aggregate – we have yet to find a surface we were unable to make safer!

I have not had anyone slip and fall on my property, so why do I need your services?
That is great! Our services will ensure that it stays that way. Most people are under the illusion that dry tile is sufficient to prevent future accidents, but that is false security. All it takes is one liquid spill when someone is not anticipating it and they slip on it and they are injured on the floor. At that point it’s too late. Act before it gets to that point, and that is where we can assist you.
Do you guarantee that we will never have another slip and fall incident?
NO, we don’t! No one can provide that sort of guarantee with 100% certainty. Our application will increase the traction on your floor to satisfy the Coefficient of Friction standard as outlined by the ADA and OSHA published guidelines (see SCOF chart).
Is this service available for residential applications?
Absolutely! It works on both commercial and residential properties. Bathtubs, showers, kitchen and bathroom floors are all susceptible to becoming slippery when wet. We have a solution for those situations. We would be glad to come out and assess the situation, give a quote and perform the service in a professional, cost-effective and timely manner!
Is the service expensive?
Not at all, our quotes are based on the job. We take into account the application, square footage, and completion time and of course product needed. You have to remember that this application will reduce the likelihood of any future potential catastrophic slip and fall injury. Injuries as a result of a slip and fall accident are way more costly than our service. Most individuals are extremely satisfied with the services because they don’t want to experience the alternative.
How do we know if our floors are slippery when they are wet?
That’s a good question. You won’t know for sure unless someone can perform a Static Coefficient of Friction test and that is where we come in. All you need to do is click on the “Contact Us” button and fill out the form and one of our Certified Professionals will contact you to set an appointment to test your floors.
Well, can I test the floors myself?
Yes, you could if you had the proper training, tools and equipment. Most people do not have any of the above; therefore, they request a company to come in who has the ability to perform the test properly and install the application to achieve the desired slip-resistance.
How long do I need to wait before I can walk on my floors?

The areas treated with our propriety solution can be walked on as soon as the job has been completed. There is no curing period or drying time. They are ready for immediate use! Should your surface require a sealant or coating, then dry and cure times may apply.

Do I really need this service?

We believe you really do – but obviously that is up to you to decide! Give us a call so we can show you the difference our service can make. We want your place to be safe for family, friends, staff and clients alike. You focus on what you do best and let us focus on what we do best! Give us a call or fill out the form on the website and you will see how well we service our clients.

What is the cost of having our floors tested?

For a typical floor COF testing the cost is $295.00 if your business resides within Palm Beach County, Martin County or St Lucie County. This cost will be deducted from your total invoice should you retain our services to treat your floors. Businesses outside of these counties please contact us for a quote. Full SCOF and DCOF testing with Electronic Test Report start at $500 within our area of service.

What test equipment is used for the Coefficient of Friction testing?

Florida Non-Slip Services and Consultants conducts surface friction measurement using the TracScan Tribometer.

The TracScan is a truly portable tribometer used for the evaluation of slip resistance characteristics of floor surfaces. The TRACSCAN tribometer is the ultimate tool for Safety and Facility Management professionals to monitor the traction levels of their walkways. Keeping an accurate record of your walkway traction demonstrates compliance with the nationally recognized walkway safety standards and commitment to comply with best practices laid out by ANSI Standards. The TracScan tribometer is one of only two tribometers approved by the National Floor Safety Institute (
