We all have a roof over our head to protect us from the elements, locks on our doors and most times alarm systems to keep unwanted guests out. We religiously wear our seat belt in the car and insist our passengers do the same, we put a safety fence around the pool to prevent accidents with our little ones, we install grab bars in bathrooms for our elderly parents and grandparents – but often we skip over the obvious: the vast majority of accidents around the home are a result of a slip and fall. OSHA Guidelines

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends that walking surfaces in public areas have a SCOF of 0.50 or above in all conditions.

ADA Guidelines

The Americans with Disabilities Act calls for a SCOF of 0.60 for flat surfaces and a 0.80 for ramps.

Do your bathtub, shower, kitchen, bathroom floor and pool deck meet these recommendations so you can rest assured that you have done everything in your power to provide your loved ones and guests with a home that is as safe as possible?

There are very few home owners (and renters) that do not need worry about the above, as they have taken the necessary precautions to prevent trips and slips on slippery and wet surfaces. See below and check our Services to see what the experts at Florida Non Slip can do to help make your home safer.
